Sentinel Real Estate has acquired Stonehill at West Orange, a recently completed residential apartment community located in West Orange, New Jersey, approximately 16 miles west of Midtown Manhattan. This investment highlights Sentinel’s commitment to high-quality assets in markets offering strong connectivity and limited supply.
Stonehill at West Orange features a variety of amenities, including a great lawn with a TV screening area, outdoor bar and BBQ grilling stations with outdoor dining spaces.
Delivered in 2024, Stonehill at West Orange comprises three mid-rise buildings with 423 units of one- and two-bedrooms featuring premium finishes such as nine- to ten-foot ceilings, luxury plank flooring, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and Shaker cabinetry. Select residences include enhanced features such as built-in workstations, wine bars, frameless shower doors and private outdoor spaces, catering to evolving resident preferences for functionality and design.
Totaling 44,000 square feet, Stonehill at West Orange offers an extensive amenity package including two fitness centers, a movement studio with on-demand technology, co-working spaces with private offices, a sports simulator lounge, social and game lounges and a dedicated children’s playroom. Outdoor amenities include grilling stations, fire pits, and entertainment areas, complemented by two pet spas and a dog run. Residents also benefit from 816 parking spaces, EV charging stations, private garage access and 24/7 concierge services.
“Stonehill at West Orange’s modern architecture, high-end interiors and abundant, best-in-class amenity suite is representative of our strategy of investing in luxury multifamily assets situated in close proximity to diverse employment and lifestyle nodes,” says George Tietjen, Managing Director at Sentinel.
“This property is well-positioned to benefit from limited local residential supply, coupled with its convenient accessibility to quality necessity retail, restaurants and easy commute to the tri-state offices of leading companies in the healthcare, education, financial services, pharmaceuticals and technology sectors.”
Situated between Interstate 280 and NJ-10, Stonehill at West Orange provides direct connectivity to Newark, Jersey City and Manhattan via a shuttle to the Orange NJ Transit station, enabling a 30-minute commute to Penn Station. The community is adjacent to Essex Green Shopping Center and within proximity to Whole Foods Market, with a Trader Joe’s opening soon. Recreational options include nearby golf courses and over 2,500 acres of parkland, some offering views of the New York City skyline.
Sentinel’s acquisition of Stonehill at West Orange reflects a disciplined approach to identifying assets that combine architectural quality, comprehensive amenities and strategic location – elements that continue to define demand in the multifamily market.
